Scams:

If you want to give your money away, give to a homeless person, or Santa outside the grocery store, or any of many charities, they will all leave you feeling better afterwords. Check out Family Promise, for a great family helping charity!
Scammers are good at it, and leave you feeling disappointed and empty. I have fallen for a lot of them myself throughout the years, and will post a few of them here through short stories.

Debt Relief:
I can tell you from experience, those ads you see and hear, "are you X amount in debt, call us" are 90% scams. I tried 2 of them to help me from going bankrupt many years ago. They both took my money, and did nothing for me. One of them even disappeared, and I found out there was nothing I could do. Don't think, by checking with the BBB, you'll be safe, that's what I did with the company that disappeared. If you need help with your credit, check with an attorney, or your local chamber of commerce for assistance.

Google:
Google is a multi-million dollar company, they are real, but there are people trying to sell you, on making money through google adsense. Don't fall for it, I am here to tell you that it does work, but you don't have to pay for it. These people just take your money and give you nothing in return. You can start a blog at blogger.com or start a website, and run google adsense on either one of those at no cost to you.

The Real Scammers:
They go for volume, and they know how people think. "It's only a dollar and who knows, maybe it'll work, NOT!". Believe me, if it worked, if any of this really worked, they wouldn't be trying to get you to buy it. They would be doing it themselves. Don't get me wrong, some books out there, have some great ideas that could work, the people selling them just might not understand how to make money with the idea, so they sell the books to you instead.

The letter:
Yes, there is the letter. People have all this money, and need help to get out. You get it by e-mail. Don't fall for it, it's a scam, if they had all this money, and needed help. They would contact someone who could help them, not you!

Final Note:
Always research anyone before giving them you're money. Never give credit info, without thorough research first, especially if you have second thoughts. You can do a search on the web for "company name or product name" followed by scam, to see if anybody has posted them on the web. It works, I've done this on numerous occasions to avoid being taken.

5 Steps To Protect Yourself:
1) Check the Better Business Bureau.
2) Search Yahoo online for the company/product, followed by the word "scam".
3) Checkout Scammers.
4) Join FaceBook and ask about them there.
5) Ask me, and I will look into it.
Just, please be careful with your hard earned money!
