The Family Adviser:

Hi, I am Dr. G, your family adviser.
I will share with you, personal experiences and knowledge from numerous authorities, on a large variety of family matters. Our ultimate goal here, is to build a stronger and long lasting bond.

Feel free to look around, pick up some tips and start enjoying a happier life with the ones you love. Check out the Advice Articles for the many areas of guidance.

The advice in these pages, may not fit into every persons life. You may need to look for your specific situation and fit it to your needs. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions about family matters, submit your questions or comments in the Family Issues forum.

The family adviser would like to share with you, a little paragraph from a book he read and enjoyed, by Stephen R. Covey:

"In the midst of pressures - particularly regarding work and career - many people are blind to the real priority of family. But think about it: Your professional role is temporary. When you retire from being a salesman, banker or whatever, you will be replaced. The company will go on. And your life will change significantly as you move out of that culture and lose the immediate affirmation of your work and your talent.

But your role in the family will never end. You will never be replaced. Your influence and the need for your influence never ends. Even after you are gone, your children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren will still look to you as their parent or grandparent.Family is one of the few permanent roles in life, perhaps the only truly permanent role."

Good Family Values (to live by):

Family Bonding:What happens between any two people.
Making Time To Bond:A scheduled time set aside to bond.
Communication:An important form of bonding.
Encouragement:To increase one's self esteem.
Building trust:Easy to lose, hard to regain.
Understanding:Comes with good communication.
